Pregnancy: Second Trimester Recap + Adventures

Happy Friday, friends!! I am SOOOOO thankful to share that the 2nd trimester brought much relief from the awfulness of the first trimester... it was right around 16 wks that I turned a corner and I am certain that my family, as well as my clients, were probably just as thankful! ;)

Before knowing about the pregnancy, I'd committed to 2 speaking engagements towards the end of October... I was so excited about both but would be lying if I didn't share that part of me was concerned about how I'd feel/do at both... yet, thankfully I was around 23 and 24 weeks for those and feeling great at that point... Plus, as I shared from my first trimester update, I have been in a better frame of mind in terms of asking for help and also taking time to rest as needed during this pregnancy, so doing both of those things definitely helped!

Throughout the trimester I really didn't have any complaints. I slept through the night most nights, didn't have any strong aversions to food and had a lot more energy than the first trimester... I did continue to have my ever-strong sense of smell {seems like a constant for me that's just heightened during pregnancy} and about 1/2 way through it got to the point where it was harder for the little ladies to sit on my lap :)

As a result of feeling much better, I took full advantage of fitting in lots of work which included having the largest client load I've had to date with Flourish + Co, as well as the speaking engagements I mentioned above. I am so thankful and feel so privileged to walk alongside so many precious women who are growing in big ways and dedicated to being their best!!!

And, as a family and as a couple we knew we wanted to take advantage of my feeling better before our little guy arrives by taking a couple trips. The first weekend of October we spent in Chattanooga with our little ladies during their fall break... it was SUCH a sweet time for the 4 of us exploring Rock City, Ruby Falls, the Incline Railway, the aquarium and more... if you've not gone there as a family, we highly recommend!!

So thankful for our last "official" trip as a family of 4 and all the memories made! Upon returning home, we dropped the girls with my brother and his family and Matt and I headed to the Fox for the Wilco show.

And then the following weekend in October, Matt and I headed to Nashville to spend time with his parents and to enjoy the Jason Isbell show at the Ryman! It was one of the only times that Matt and I have been in Nashville just with his parents- typically either the girls are with us or his brother and his family are in town too- and as much as we love when the other family is there, it was really sweet to have time just the 4 of us. We ran errands and enjoyed some good food too!

The rest of October was filled with hard work but great work and some more play with friends + family... All in all, it was such a sweet trimester!! As I'm now in the third, I'm attempting to hold onto the greatness of the second as much as possible before I really start to feel large and in charge :)

{the above allowed me to really enjoy our babymoon a couple weeks ago, which I'll share about soon!}

So thankful for each of you for reading and for being part of our lives and also sharing in our enthusiasm for the gift of this little guy! Enjoy your weekend!
